Caran d'Ache Pablo Pencil Review
Pablos are an oil based pencil, that are used dry, or with a colorless blender or solvent.
They are water resistant, and have 3.8 mm thick cores. Pablos come in 120 colors, that match the watersoluble line, Supracolors.
The exteriors are hexagonal, made of FSC certified cedar wood.
They are easy to hold and they will not roll off of your table easily.
Pencils have the interior color painted on the outside, and they have the color name, color number, and lightfast ratings on the end of each pencil.
Developed and made in Switzerland. These pencils come in pre-sharpened sets with well designed containers. I usually re-arrange the color order slightly. They are high quality, have a good pigment load, and don't break easily, since their cores are glued. We have never come across one that had off-centered cores or was warped, even the very old ones. The metallic gold is a little hard and scratchy.
These pencils layer quite well. They are a top choice for professional colored pencil artists.
Pigment information and lightfast ratings are provided by the company.
